Release of the Evangelical Alliance Wales - Gweini Manifesto for the 2016 National Assembly elections

This extensive Manifesto covers 31 policy areas of concern to Wales. It has been produced with input from acknowledged experts in the field, and with hundreds of evangelical Christians across Wales. It offers numerous insights into the way that classic evangelical themes, such as a concern for social justice, community life, and inclusion of the marginalised can be worked into practical policies for the good of all in Wales. Overall, it demonstrates that evangelical Christians have a vital role to play in the development of our Nation.

The Manifesto should be read in tandem with Evangelical Alliance's Faith in Politics? report, published in February 2015. This UK-wide report - which received excellent media coverage - was drawn from a survey of over 2,000 evangelical Christians in August-September 2014 and examines evangelical political engagement in detail. It shows, among other things, the breadth of evangelical concern, covering issues such as religious liberty, human trafficking, equality and the alleviation of poverty. The Manifesto undergirds, confirms and extrapolates upon this report. To read the Manifesto online, click here or download the PDF here.
